Word to PDF converter

Turn a Word document (.docx) into a PDF that looks the way it does in Word: same page size, margins, fonts, headers and footers, and the same page breaks. It runs in your browser, so your file is never uploaded.

How to use Word to PDF

  1. Choose one or more Word documents (.docx).
  2. For several files, pick one PDF each or one combined PDF.
  3. Click Convert to PDF and the PDF downloads.

Frequently asked questions

Will the PDF look the same as in Word?

Yes, for normal documents. Page size, margins, headers, footers, page numbers, tables, lists, images, charts, footnotes and landscape pages are kept, and lines break in the same places as in Word.

What about fonts like Calibri and Times New Roman?

They are replaced with free fonts that have exactly the same letter widths (Carlito for Calibri, Caladea for Cambria, Liberation for Arial, Times New Roman and Courier New), so text fits the same way. Other fonts use the closest of these.

Can I convert an old .doc file?

Not yet. Open it in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice, save it as .docx, then convert it here.

Can I convert several documents at once?

Yes. Choose them all, then download one PDF per document in a .zip, or combine them into one PDF.

Is anything left out?

Bar, column, line, area, pie, doughnut and scatter charts are drawn from their data. SmartArt, other chart types and EMF or WMF pictures are not drawn yet, and the tool tells you when a document has any. Equations are shown as plain text. Tracked changes appear as the final text, and comments are left out.

Is it free, and is there a watermark?

Yes. It is free to use, with no sign-up and no watermark on your file.

Are my files uploaded?

Your file is processed in your browser and is never uploaded to our servers. The fonts (about 9 MB) are downloaded the first time and kept by your browser.
