Promissory note
Starting point, not legal advice. Print on long bond paper (8.5 x 13 in) and have it signed by the borrower, the co-maker and two witnesses, then notarized so it becomes a public document. Interest must be agreed in writing to be collectible (Article 1956, Civil Code), and courts may reduce rates they find excessive. Lenders in the business of lending must also follow SEC and Truth in Lending Act rules. Delete this note before printing.

FOR VALUE RECEIVED, I, GERALDINE A. SALAZAR, of legal age, Filipino, married, and residing at Blk 14 Lot 6, Avida Settings Nuvali, Barangay Don Jose, Santa Rosa, Laguna 4026, promise to pay MR. FERDINAND L. ESGUERRA, of legal age, Filipino, residing at 31 Mabini Street, Barangay Poblacion, Calamba, Laguna 4027, or his order, the principal sum of ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS (₱150,000.00), Philippine currency, with interest at one percent (1%) a month on the original principal, under the following terms:
- Installments. I shall pay in six (6) equal monthly installments of ₱26,500.00 each, on the 28th day of each month, starting on 28 November 2026, according to the schedule below.
- Mode of payment. Payments shall be made by bank transfer to the lender's Metrobank Savings Account No. 271-3-27104558-1, or in cash against a signed acknowledgment receipt.
- Prepayment. I may pay all or part of the balance early without penalty, and the interest for the remaining months shall be reduced accordingly.
- Default. If I fail to pay any installment within fifteen (15) days of its due date, the entire unpaid balance shall become immediately due and demandable without need of demand, and the unpaid amount shall earn a penalty of one percent (1%) a month until paid.
- Co-maker. The co-maker signs below as a solidary co-obligor and agrees to be jointly and severally liable with me for the full amount of this note.
- Venue. Any legal action arising from this note shall be filed in the proper courts of Calamba, Laguna.
